We will provide warm food, and film, and request that you bring your own deck chair, swag, thermos, cutlery, blanket and anything else you might need to keep yourself comfortable. Please note this is a dry event, there will be no alcohol served or permitted. It is family friendly, dog friendly, it is friendly to all.
FOOD
We provide a small dinner at sunset in observance of Ramadan. You’re welcome to bring anything else you’d like to enjoy during the event.
ENTRY
Entry to the walk-in cinema is always free.
This special evening marks Adam’s return to present his new project, SYRIAN TRADERS.
The night is full, featuring an 8:00pm screening of Children of Shatila (1998), a powerful documentary by Palestinian filmmaker Mai Masri following two children growing up in the Shatila refugee camp in Beirut, who use imagination and creativity to navigate life shaped by war, poverty and displacement.
Alongside the film, Adam will present an interactive Central Desert video game installation, developed during his exchange with 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓼𝓹𝓮𝓮𝓭 𝓸𝓯 𝓵𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽, an artist exchange program between FELTspace (Tartanya/Adelaide) and Watch This Space (Mparntwe/Alice Springs). This will be presented in our Pantry Space.
A small marketplace will also be set up in the main gallery space, offering T-shirts and a curated selection of artworks, with all funds raised going toward Eid Faraj's campaign in Gaza, support for Lebanon with money going to the Shatila Refugee Camp, and community mob initiatives in Mparntwe.
At sunset, food will be shared in observance of Ramadan, creating space to gather and break the fast together!
This is a NO dogs event. This IS a fundraiser event. Prayer rooms will be available for those who wish to observe. Please BYO chair, swag, plate and blanket.
We hope you can join us! 5:30pm - late.
