30TH BIRTHDAY PROGRAMMING

Watch This Space was established in August, 1993 by founding members, Pam Lofts, Anne Mosey, Jan Mackay, Angela Gee and Pip McManus in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). The initial charter authored by them stated a number of objectives including:

1) Providing a forum for artists wanting to engage in a critical dialogue on works in progress and resolved works.

2) A venue for emerging and professional artists, a non-commercial space with no pressure to sell works.

3) It was to be an exchange between artists around Australia and internationally with 50% local and 50% visiting artists.

4) There was a strong emphasis on collaborations between artists and all media.

All these years later, following countless exhibitions and projects, many buildings and temporary sites, and in honour of the thousands of artists who have enriched this region, upholding this vision, WTS celebrates a very special milestone birthday.
