DESERT MOB WALK-IN CINEMA

Following the opening of Marlene Rubuntja’s solo exhibition Looking Back, Moving Forward we will be screening films from Yarrenyty Arltere Artists, Iwantja Artists, Tangentyere Artists and the premiere of a new film from Hermannsburg Potters.

Hermannsburg Potters: Yia Nurnaka (Our Story)

In this mini-documentary the artists of Hermannsburg Potters speak to the importance of intergenerational sharing of knowledge and working together in the pottery studio. The Hermannsburg Potters continue a 30-year-legacy, sculpting and painting Country, visual histories and contemporary settings, speaking to Western Aranda culture and values.

“The ones who started the work, making the pottery, have all gone. We need to stand strong to keep going on.”  - Judith Pungarta Inkamala (translation from Western Aranda)
