Pressed Aggregate
Lauren Ravi
Pressed aggregate will present new sculptural work and paintings by local artist Lauren Ravi. Inspired by a background in cultural materials conservation the artist often employs irrational means to better understand inner feelings of dissociation from process’ of manufacture and the built environment. Through experimentation with ancient methods of construction, the artist seeks to create objects that hold gestures, and traces in time, presenting a merging of the body, material and the environment. This exhibition will take shape as a body of concrete sculptures, ceramics and oil paintings.
