PRISONER LETTER WRITING NIGHT

One of the (many) ways the prison system beats people down is by isolating them from the rest of the community. Writing letters to people on the inside is a long radical tradition and it's one way we can challenge this isolation - building bridges to those the state has tried to disappear. Letter writing holds an even more important role during the pandemic as visiting hours at most prisons have been reduced.

Whether or not you know anyone on the inside, come on down! Writing together can be a great way to get started and we'll provide a 101 on things to consider, eg. prison regulations. You may just write a one off letter that brightens someone's day, or maybe you'll make a lifelong friend :)

Paper, envelopes, stamps and addresses of people on the inside who are happy to be written to will be provided!

If you’re able to, please RSVP to wts@wts.org.au
