We are so thrilled to announce the imminent arrival of prolific arts organiser and new WTS co-director, Bridget Chappell.
Lucky to have grown up with a few different mountain ranges, they’re stoked to soon be looking at Tjoritja on the daily and becoming part of Mparntwe’s arts communities. Their practice as an organiser has focused on centering marginalised voices in media arts, recently via their award-winning baby Melbourne Sound School, Signal Youth Arts, and Arts Mildura.
As an artist they make, code, and DJ dance and experimental music, create data-driven sound installations, organise raves, and write essays about their significance.
Bridget and Charlie will work together as the collaborative caretakers of Watch This Space.
Bridget’s arrival marks a much anticipated and long awaited shift for WTS into a co-director model. This model will alleviate some of the pressure and burnout historically endured by the WTS director, allowing for more time and energy to be dedicated to supporting the arts community of Mparntwe.
We are delighted that WTS will be carried into this new phase in the capable hands of Bridget and Charlie. It will be a pleasure to witness what these joint caretakers will be able to develop and achieve as a team.
